Due to current events, we would like to announce a short statement on the Facebook disruption. We first noticed the malfunction on October 4th, 2021 at 5:49:33 PM CET. Various tests failed because the domains no longer resolve correctly.

According to other sources, Facebook is struggling with persistent DNS problems. Currently, all domains only resolve with an NXDOMAIN response, which indicates a faulty configuration.

We monitor thousands of websites around the clock and alert you in the event of a problem.

What is "Facebook"?

"Facebook" is one of the largest and most famous social networking platforms in the world. It was founded in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg and his co-founders Andrew McCollum, Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskovitz in Harvard, USA. Facebook was originally designed as a platform for college students to communicate with each other and share information.

The platform has evolved significantly since its inception and is now available to people worldwide. Facebook allows users to create profiles, send and accept friend requests, share images and videos, post status updates, and interact with content from friends and Pages that interest them. The platform also offers various features such as groups, events, messenger for private communication, and it has acquired other companies and platforms over the years, including Instagram and WhatsApp.

However, Facebook has also attracted attention and criticism for a variety of reasons, including privacy concerns, the spread of misinformation and questions about the power and influence of social media. Despite this, Facebook remains one of the most widely used social networking platforms with billions of active users worldwide.
